There are so many occasions when you can wear a holiday sweater, a child's holiday party at school, running errands, at work, an evening event, or your teen's is in a program at school, etc. Whatever the holiday or festive theme wear sweaters that are stylish yet comfortable!

Here are some savvy holiday sweater tips!

1. Look for sweaters with a knit/spandex, wool/spandex, acrylic/cotton, and such fabrics. These fabrics will give you a slender festive look instead of a bulky look.

2. Opt for festive or holiday patterns that are an inlay in the fabric rather than on top of the fabric.

3. Don't shy away from vivid color or some elegant embellishment (for women) on evening holiday sweaters.

Look dynamic this holiday season with a stylish appeal!

Make it great!

Jamie

Jamie will be a guest on the Balance and Wisdom Internet Radio Show for Women

Jamie is excited to be a guest on the Balance and Wisdom Internet Radio Show for Women (www.balanceandwisdom.com) September 24, 2007! After spelling out the name of the company, two times, the information professional tells me there is no number' I pleasantly ask how he is spelling it and when he recites it back to me, he is spelling it wrong. When I let him know he has transposed two letters, he jumps all over me stating that does not matter and hangs up on me. I don't know what transpired in his day or what he was confronting but his short, unhelpful response was not productive.

Snappy responses reduce communication and are ineffective. If your day is stressful, which many are, don't loose sight of the "end result" you want from the communication. If you know you are going to be speaking with someone or an interruption appears, don't lose your cool, take a moment to regroup and then proceed with the communication. You will be happy you did and the "end result" will be productive.

Make it a great day!

Jamie

Amy Dickinson the national sydincate columnist of "Ask Amy" Recommended Look, Speak & build your credibility. When you are late for appointments, late for work, or miss appointments you have mismanaged your time which reduces reliability, lowers credibility and negatively effects people's confidence in you.

If you are someone who is routinely late, get up earlier, leave earlier or put sufficient time in between your appointments. Practice being timely and make it a routine. It makes no difference if you stay at home or work you should want to be on time for everything.

Have a great day!

Jamie

No blogging will be out of town

Hello Friends,

I will be out of town until Monday 3/19/07 so no quick tips until then. feel overwhelmed to motivate yourself because your life is so hectic with meeting all the demands. Don't let that stop you! Motivating yourself could be starting a new career, working out and/or eating right to get in shape, going back to college to secure a better career, feeling better about yourself so you do not have a low self-esteem, shaking any bad habit, cleaning up a catch all room or garage, and the list goes on. We all need self-motivation to better ourselves. Don't ever let yourself get caught where you wonder why life seems to be treating you unfair; life doesn't treat you unfair, you treat yourself unfair when you do not self-motivate. You need to make the most of life which takes self-motivation!

Have a great day!

Jamie

Your Appearance Speaks Volumes!

The way you communicate is not only through the way you speak and behave but it must include the way you appear. Your business appearance is not about vanity rather it is the way you care about yourself which projects your confidence and credibility in yourself and your work. Too many times working professionals do not understand the importance of their work wardrobe and grooming details to look smart.

You should want to make a positive impression each day you go to work, whether it is from home to an office outside the home. When you look sloppy, outdated, too skimpy or ungroomed you do not project a positive impression. You might say you work inside an office and do not come in contact with anyone other than your co-workers. Although this may be true, it does not mean your should not care about the way you look. Why? You should want to look smart and polished because it builds your self-esteem and new opportunities may present themselves; employers are always taking notes.

If you are an employer you should not take advantage of your position by dressing too relaxed. Why? Your team looks at you as a leader and you must lead by example; if you want to build your credibility, look the part.

If you are in front of clients, potential clients, judges, groups, colleagues, etc. your appearance speaks to your expertise and credibility. When you look sloppy, outdated, too skimpy, ungroomed or too relaxed you may loose your credibility which in turn looses sales, clients, and cases.

If you are a home based business or small business owner your appearance is your calling card that showcases your confidence, specialty and expertise. Although you may dress slightly more relaxed do not let it become too relaxed and messy. Stand out and showcase yourself and your specialty!

No matter where you work, your position or age you should want to look your best not only at work but also outside the office. Opportunities lurk everywhere from running errands, going on vacations, attending after hours, watching your child or teen's event, etc. When you are on your personal time remember your image reflects who you are; your casual and social clothing and total appearance needs to speak savvy and sharp.

You want to leave an excellent, lasting impression all the time.

Have a great day!!!

Jamie Yasko-Mangum

If you want to stand out with credibility and confidence, give us a call!

Use Eye Contact and Smile!

Today I walking and noticed many women and men that hold their head down when walking past other people. This observation made me want to talk with all of you about lifting your head, use eye contact and smile. You might even want to say Good Morning or Hi.

I try everyday with everyone I come into contact with to smile, look at them and say hello. It not only makes me feel good but I can see they like it too. A warm smile and greeting always helps everyone. You do not have stop and talk just be pleasant. Khaki, black and white are nice colors and can pizazz to any outfit however they should not be the only colors in your wardrobe. You need to add many other colors to your wardrobe; they can be solid colors or in designs. Why? They add vibrance to you face and personality.

When you are ready to start adding colors to your wardrobe you should know a couple of key factors to colors. The color should enhance your skin tone, eyes, and hair and it should be worn to compliment your body shape.

There are primary colors and from those primary color come an array of other colors. What makes colors change dynamics is the hue, tint and undertones of the color. You need to select colors that make you look alive. What happens many times to women and men is they select colors (because they love the color) that drains them or makes them look older. It is not that you cannot wear that color but you need a different shade of that color; changing the hue, tint and undertone.

A quick tip to knowing if a color looks ALIVE on you is to hold the color of the top or shirt up to your face in excellent light and look in the mirror, if you see your face turn a rosy color you have a hit; if it looses your color it is not good for you.

If you are stuck in a color rut, apply the tip and start adding color to your wardrobe. You will feel ALIVE and love the attention you receive.

Jamie Yasko-Mangum

Successful Style & Image, Inc.
(407) 478-6800 or 1-866-971-7152
Email: ssimage@successfulstyle-image.com
Website: www.successfulstyle-image.com

Do you take personal responsibility?

In today's world, does anyone take personal responsibility anymore? I grew up learning that you must be accountable and responsible for your actions. I am proud to see when women or men take personal responsibility; it shows she or he has integrity.

All of us in this world have made bad choices however instead of blaming, ignoring, or lying about it, take responsibility for it, recognize it, you may need to apologize, but definitely learn from it and don't do it again. Men and women get caught in a rut buying the same cut, solid or pattern, same type of material or same article of clothing over and over and over again.

If your wardrobe is dominated with solids, plaids, a singular color (white, black or khaki), jeans, capri, cotton material clothing, etc. you need to try buying something different. If you are a male and you only buy plaid shirts (long or short sleeved), try buying a solid or a different design. If you are female and you only buy solids, try a design. This selection will spice up your wardrobe. It may take a little bit of time getting use to the change but 9 out 10 times you will love it.

Remember,as with any category of clothing, cut, fabric, color, etc., make sure it fits and is age appropriate for you!

If you need help spicing up your wardrobe, give us a call or e-mail us.

Jamie Yasko-Mangum

(407) 478-6800 or Toll Free 1-866-971-7152
ssimage@successfulstyle-image.com
www.successfulstyle-image.com

Is it time to refresh your wardrobe?

How many times do you look in your closet and ponder what to wear for the day? Are you tired of wearing the same clothes? If so, start thinking about refreshing you wardrobe!

I am not suggesting you go out and buy a new wardrobe and spending hundreds or thousands of dollars rather I am suggesting to start your process of refreshing the wardrobe. When you refresh your wardrobe it first starts with you understanding your lifestyle and what clothes you need to go in it. Many times women and men fill their closet with clothes for certain lifestyle categories such as work, child playgroups, casual occasions, etc. and completely forget their other lifestyle categories. What happens? You don't have clothes for social events (day and night), you do not have appropriate clothes for your kid's program, you do not have clothes for traveling, etc. Remember what you wear to run errands is not what you wear to attend a social gathering and what you wear to workout is not what you wear to a child, preteen or teen's program at school.

When you start refreshing your wardrobe look at your lifestyle and see all the activities you participate in and build a wardrobe around those.

Tomorrow I will talk ahout how not to get stuck buying the same thing over and over and over.

Have a great day!

Jamie Yasko-Mangum

P.S.
